Shanghai, China – (April 13, 2026) – R+T Asia 2026, Asia’s premier trade fair for sun shading, doors/gates and automation, returns for its 21st edition from 27–29 May 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Shanghai, with four halls spanning 120,000 sqm already fully occupied by more than 750 exhibitors.
Positioned as a key gateway to the Asian market, the event will bring once again together international manufacturers, suppliers and decision-makers, offering access to innovation, market insights and business opportunities across the region.
R+T Asia continues to confirm its role as a global industry meeting point. The 2025 edition recorded 55,201 visitors from 115 countries, including more than 15,500 international attendees, highlighting its strong international profile.
For 2026, visitor registration is progressing steadily, in line with last year’s record figures. Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, including tensions in the Middle East, international interest remains strong, with professionals seeking to assess market developments, strengthen partnerships and explore new business opportunities.
Early registration trends also indicate growing participation beyond China, particularly from Asia-Pacific markets such as India, Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Turkey; the Americas, including the USA, Canada (now visa-free), Brazil and Argentina; Europe, notably the UK (now visa-free), Poland, Hungary, Spain, Germany and France; as well as Africa, with increasing interest from Egypt and Algeria. This broad geographic reach reinforces the event’s importance for export-oriented companies targeting the Asian market.
To further support international participation, R+T Asia will again host its established Buyer Club programme, designed for senior purchasing professionals and key decision-makers. Developed in cooperation with international associations and media partners—including ACMI (Association of Manufacturers and Closing Mechanisms Italy), Assotende (Association of Italian Manufacturers of Awnings, Sun Shading Systems, Technical Fabrics and Automation Systems) and Business Review Journal (Singapore)—the initiative facilitates targeted matchmaking and high-level networking opportunities.
For the first time, R+T Asia 2026 will introduce a dedicated exhibition area exclusively focused on insect protection solutions. Developed in collaboration with the Screen Specialized Committee of the Guangdong Door Industry Association, this new feature, located in Hall 2, H2E67, will host 15 exhibitors, responding directly to the growing interest observed among visitors over the past two editions.
By bringing together specialised manufacturers and innovative products within a clearly defined showcase, the initiative aims to highlight the increasing relevance of insect protection within the broader sun shading and building envelope sector, while creating new business opportunities for both domestic and international stakeholders.
The International Window and Door Summit (IWDS) 2026 brings together global experts to explore the future of sustainable building solutions under the theme: “Windows & Shading Empower Low-Carbon Buildings, Technology Forges a Green Future.”
Supported by German Energy Center & College, the conference will cover key topics such as sustainable evaluation standards for shading systems, practical strategies for combining economic success with environmental performance, and the role of technology in enabling low-carbon applications. The programme will also include insights from the door and gate sector, broadening the perspective on integrated building solutions.
Confirmed speakers include Rolf Demmler (China Ambassador of German Sustainable Building Council DGNB); Thomas Fritzsche (Founder, Chief Architect, Thomas Fritzsche Architects TFA); Li Zhengrong (Professor & PhD Supervisor, School of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Tongji University); and Xu Qiang (Professor-level Senior Engineer, Senior Chief Engineer at the Shanghai Research Institute of Building Sciences).
The co-located cadex platform will once again provide a bridge between industry, architecture and design. The 2026 edition will feature the “Sense It! Design and Sensory Economy” summit, focusing on the growing importance of user experience and sensory-driven design in the built environment.
International speakers include Edoardo Nieri (Founder & Design Director at Atelier Meadow); Peter Ippolito (Managing Partner & Creative Director at Ippolito Fleitz Group); Beatrice Rizzi (Asia Regional Director at DEDODESIGN); and Red Hu (Co-founder & Design Director at Greater Dog), among others. The programme will wrap up with the panel discussion “SHE DESIGN: Sensing Tomorrow,” which brings forward female voices in multidisciplinary design, delivering new insights and inspiration to the industry.
With Asia continuing to drive growth in construction and building technologies, R+T Asia remains a strategic platform for international companies from around the globe aiming to expand their presence in the region. By combining a strong international visitor base with targeted networking formats and a forward-looking conference programme, the event offers a comprehensive overview of current market developments and future industry directions.
Industry professionals interested in exploring new business opportunities in Asia are encouraged to secure their participation early. Online visitor registration for R+T Asia 2026 is free, and thanks to a printable visitor pass sent by email, it allows direct access to the fairground without additional verification at the entrance.
